A CALL TO SERVE HARDING: The Township Committee welcomes citizens willing to serve on the Boards, Commissions and Committees that support the governance of Harding. If you are excited by the possibility of contributing your time and talents to your town, we need to hear from you. Service opportunities are listed on the Harding Civic Association Website (www.hardingcivic.org). And if the natural beauty and architectural history of Harding are your passion, you should know that the Redevelopment Steering Committee, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Environmental Commission and the Cell Tower Advisory Committee are especially in need of volunteers. DRAFT FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAPS are now available Index Sheet 1 Sheet 2 Sheet 3 Sheet 4 Sheet 5 Sheet 6 Sheet 7 Sheet 8 HEALTH DEPARTMENT VACCINATION CLINIC The Health Department will offer free tetanus, diptheria and pertussis (Tdap) as well as human papillomavirus vaccines (Gardasil) for residents on August 31, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building. Tdap vaccine is required for children entering sixth grade. For more information or to register for the program, please call 973 267-8000, ext 125. Notice from the Office of Emergency Management: Please register now for Disaster Assistance - FEMA has announced that funding is available due to the recent storm in NJ. Homeowners, renters and business owners affected by the severe storm and flooding are encouraged to register by telephone at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY 1-800-462-7585 for speech impaired) or register online at www.disasterassistance.gov. Register today - even if you have flood insurance some losses may not be covered!
New Resources are Available for Military Families: Military Families with active soldiers deployed overseas or those with returning service men and women now can easily access support services by dialing 2-1-1 or clicking the icon below. This website, funded by United Way in partnership with the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and the Department of Children and Families, provides a snap-shot of services available specifically to military men and women and their families.
