Tax Collector
The Tax Collector's office bills and collects taxes and sewer charges. Enforces timely payments by taxpayers, delivers delinquency notices, and calculates interest on delinquencies. Additionally, the Tax Collector is a Tax Search Officer and all requests for municipal lien searches are conducted by the tax collector's office.

IN PERSON
Cash is accepted. Please bring your bill with you so it can be properly receipted.
Checks are accepted. Make check out to "Township of Harding" and include your block and lot number on your check. Please bring your bill with you so it can be properly receipted.
BY MAIL
Cash is not accepted, only checks. Make your check out to "Township of Harding" and include your block and lot number on your check. If receipt is needed, please send entire bill along with a self addressed, stamped envelope. If receipt is not needed, just send the proper Quarterly stub along with your check. Credit cards are not accepted.
INTEREST
Any taxes remaining unpaid after the 10th of Feb., May, Aug., & Nov. are subject to interest, back to the first of that quarter. Interest rate charged is 8% per year on the first $1,500.00 of delinquency & 18%per year over. Delinquency tax rate of 18% per year remains until account is brought current, even if balance falls below $1,500.00. This in the New Jersey State Law.

Our records need to be changed so you will receive all information and bills on the properties that you own in Harding Township.
The Tax Collector's Office keeps track of who is responsible for the taxes. If there are changes in your account, it is revised and mailings will go to the proper place. If your bank or mortgage company is escrowing your taxes, they receive the original tax bill and you will receive a copy. If you pay your own taxes, you will receive the original bills. Please contact the tax collection office with any changes.
Senior Citizen deductions are based on age ( must be 65 on or before 12/31 of the previous tax year) and meet specific income guidelines. An income statement is required along with an application and the annual deduction is $250.00 if qualified. The application form can be found here.
