Public Works Description

The Department of Public Works consists of five full time employees. The DPW is responsible for the maintenance of all Township owned vehicles, roads, parks, buildings, and the Township's Recycling center.

Operators/drivers: James Miller, Gary Rauter, Jeffrey Philhower

Department of Public Works:

  •  maintains all municipally owned vehicles and equipment, providing repairs and preventative maintenance to all Administrative, Police, and DPW vehicles and equipment.
  • maintains all municipal roads, including ice and snow control, asphalt milling and paving, basin and culvert repairs and cleaning, street light and street sign repairs and maintenance.
  • operates and maintains the Harding Recycling Center, located at 8 Millbrook Rd. including, hauling, all recycled materials brought to the center.
  • is responsible for the janitorial services to the Municipal and DPW buildings. DPW also provides inspection and basic repairs to building equipment and structures.
  • maintains the parks and grounds of all municipally owned properties. Including structure repairs, lawn and tree maintenance, and amenities repairs.

Recycling: every Wednesday 7:00a.m. till 12:00 noon. except holidays

Saturdays: 9:00a.m. till 12:00 noon - in 2013: 1/5, 1/19, 2/2, 2/23, 3/9, 3/23, 4/6, 4/20, 5/4, 5/18, 6/1, 6/15, 6/29, 7/13, 7/27, 8/10, 8/24, 9/7, 9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2, 11/23, 12/7, 12/21 and 12/28 (added for Christmas recycling). .

The 2013 Recycling Brochure is now available.

A pamphlet on the Morris County Municipal Utility Authority 2013 Household Hazardous Waste program is also available.

Special Notice: Harding Township Department of Public Works, working with the Environmental Commission and the Kemmerer Library, will be hosting another electronic waste collection day, (date to be announced).

The environmental Commission will be hosting their ninth annual "Keep Harding Clean" walk this spring, (date to be announced).
