The Construction Department processes construction permit applications and enforces compliance with construction sub-code requirements.

The process of obtaining a Construction Permit generally involves two phases, first obtaining "Prior Approvals" from the Township Zoning, Engineering and Health Departments and then submitting the complete application and plans to the Construction Department.  A Prior Approval Cover Sheet can be found here .

Depending upon the nature of the project, Affordable Housing Development Fees, Tree Removal Permits, Historic Preservation Review and Road Opening Permits may also be required.

Smoke Detector / CO Alarm Certification for Construction Permits: A certification for one and two family dwelling smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm compliance is required in order to obtain a permit for residential construction in Harding Township.  The form for this certification can be found here.

GENERATOR APPLICATIONS

ZONING APPROVAL

• Submit Application and Fee of $82 made payable to Harding Twp.
• Submit 2 copies of your survey showing the location of the "proposed generator"-labeled "proposed generator" on the survey
• Submit 2 sets of Spec sheets for the specific generator to be installed

CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION

• Submit a Construction Permit Jacket UCC Form F100
• Submit small Construction Permit UCC Form F170 (3 part)
• Submit Electrical Subcode Technical Section Form F120*
• Submit Fire Subcode Technical Section Form F140*
• Submit Plumbing Subcode Technical Section Form F130*
• Submit Gas Riser Diagram (sample)
• 1 Spec Sheet for specific generator being installed
• Submit one copy of the property survey showing the exact location of the generator as well as the distance between the generator and structure (see sample).
• Completed  CO/SD Alarm Compliance Form  

All forms are available at the Construction Office.  * If you use downloaded forms 120, 130, or 140, please sign and seal 3 copies of each form for submittal.
