Harding Centennial Celebration Information
In 2022, Harding will celebrate its centennial year, marking 100 years since our forefathers separated from Passaic Township and formed a new community, naming it after the then-President of the United States, Warren G. Harding.
The year-long recognition and celebration of a such a milestone will involve all of Harding’s residents, clubs, groups and organizations. Planning, organizing, managing and coordinating the celebration is underway, but we can always use additional volunteers to serve.
Committeewoman Rita Chipperson has been appointed as the Centennial chair, and Dr. Nicole Lacz and Tracey Walters have graciously volunteered to co-chair the Centennial Committee with Ms. Chipperson. The chairs are in the process of finalizing a calendar of events and building out the sub-committees and volunteers to chair and coordinate each of these events.
We are in the process of creating a Centennial calendar and are accepting donations for the calendar. Businesses and families have the opportunity to advertise in the calendar and/or to sponsor advertisements for any of our town organizations.
Also as part of our celebration, we will be interviewing Harding residents who can speak to the history of the town in mid-September. If you would like to suggest a person to be interviewed, please contact Rita Chipperson at firstname.lastname@example.org or (201) 919-8098, Tracey Walters at email@example.com or (908) 500-0781, or Nicole Lacz at firstname.lastname@example.org or (973) 879-3964.
Our next public meeting will be held at the Harding Town Hall at 7 p.m. on September 15, 2021. Please join us for an update and to sign up for individual committees.
If you cannot attend the meeting, please feel free to contact us at any time if you or your organization would like to suggest or chair an event, or donate or volunteer.
Let’s make this a grand celebration!
